Paint Protection

What is paint correction?

Paint correction is a process used in auto detailing to restore and enhance the appearance of a vehicle’s paintwork by removing surface imperfections. These imperfections include:
• Swirl marks
• Light scratches
• Oxidation
• Water spots
• Holograms (often caused by poor machine polishing)

The process involves carefully polishing the paint using a machine polisher and various grades of abrasive compounds and pads. It can be done in one, two, or three stages depending on the level of damage and the desired results:
• One-step correction: Light polish for minor defects and gloss improvement.
• Two-step correction: More aggressive cutting followed by refining polish.
• Three-step correction: Heavy cutting, polishing, and finishing for near-perfect results.

The goal is to level out the clear coat so that light reflects more evenly, giving the paint a deep, glossy, and like-new finish. After correction, a protective coating (like wax, sealant, or ceramic coating) is usually applied to preserve the results.
